The Mother's Reunion Dream

On New Year's Eve, a mother was alone at home, packing dumplings. Just then, her son had called to say he was bringing his girlfriend home to celebrate the holiday, and the mother had been overjoyed. She hurried out to welcome him. However, on his way home, the son drove recklessly, speeding and hitting an elderly woman before choosing to flee the scene, unaware that the injured woman was his mother, who had been eagerly awaiting his return. By fleeing the scene, the son missed the critical opportunity to save her life. A passing woman kindly called for an ambulance to help the mother, who only had thirty minutes to be treated. Unfortunately, while the ambulance was en route to the clinic, it was struck by the son’s car as he continued driving against traffic. The man remained oblivious to the fact that the person in the ambulance was his mother, and he and his girlfriend tried to block the way, causing a commotion. They even demanded that the kind woman kneel and apologise to him. In desperation to save the injured mother's life, the woman swallowed her pride and apologized to the man, but he continued to refuse to relent. With no other options, the woman pushed the mother through a side entrance into the clinic for emergency treatment. Unable to accept the situation, the man followed them to the operating room, berating the woman and the others present, and summoned his uncle and the village chief for support. After understanding the situation, the village chief apologized on behalf of the man and promised to cover all medical expenses, asking others not to pursue any further actions. The woman insisted that she would seek justice for the patient. Just then, the doctor emerged from the operating room to announce that the patient's condition was critical and they had been unable to save her. It was only then that the man realized the person he had hit was his own mother. Overcome with grief and regret, he wept, but it was too late. His uncle chastised him, stating that good and evil would eventually be rewarded, and that his selfishness had caused his mother’s death, ensuring that he and his girlfriend would face the consequences. Consumed by sorrow over losing his mother and filled with remorse, the man ran into the street, only to be struck and killed by an oncoming vehicle. His girlfriend was also taken away by the police, paying a heavy price for their actions.
