Unbearable Weight of Familial Chains

The Wade family struggles in poverty, and seven-year-old Raine Wade blames their financial woes on his older sister, Ada. Seeing her as an additional burden, Raine storms out one day in a fit of rage, only to be gravely injured in a car accident that leaves him in a vegetative state. To cover the mounting medical bills, eight-year-old Ada sacrifices her education and quits school. Her selfless act is met with disdain from her family.
